BE’s Story: Rage, fury and feeling out of control

In this episode of the ‘Am I in Menopause? PROJECT’ we meet BE. BE entered into menopause after having had a hysterectomy to remove fibroids. She was unprepared for the abrupt start of her symptoms, particularly severe hot flashes as nobody had mentioned that surgically induced menopause can make symptoms more extreme.

BE also experienced intense mood swings and scared herself on at least one occasion when she succumbed to road rage and literally ‘lost her mind’ for about 5 minutes before regaining some control.

BE sought help for her symptoms, and she finally found relief with an acupuncturist who helped her resolve some of her pain and her mood swings. BE is now through the worst of the menopausal transition and is very content, living her free life and finally at peace with her body.

Producer of Am I in Menopause? PROJECT. A YouTube platform for shared storytelling around perimenopause and menopause symptoms.   For me, 'Am I in Menopause? PROJECT' is a labor of love that I hope will bring comfort to all the women out there who feel isolated by the experiences they’re going through. It's not easy being vulnerable on camera – but brave individuals have made it happen so we can all benefit from learning more! I'm truly honoured to work with such strong women. I would love to hear from you! Do you have any suggestions for improvement? Do you want to tell your own story? Get in touch by emailing me: barbara@herstasis.com.
